Welcome to Portland Mennonite Church!

At Portland Mennonite Church we are striving to be a distinctively Christ-shaped community that is actively engaged in the compassion, shalom and justice of the Gospel. On Sunday mornings, 200 of us gather for Sunday School and worship. During the week, small groups meet all over the metropolitan area. And every day members of the congregation who work at hospitals, teach school, drive public transit buses, run businesses, work in law offices and parent children, strive to heed the ancient words of the prophet Jeremiah:"Seek the peace of the city where I have sent you ... and pray to the Lord on its behalf" (Jeremiah 29.7).

Our congregation is actively involved in service and advocacy efforts with Mennonite Central Committee. We work with local ministries including Fish Emergency Service, Common Cup (a family homeless shelter) and the New City Initiative (helping people transition to housing) and Sisters of the Road café.
